Course Description
After a strike, someone must decide within hours whether a building can be entered, must be propped, or must come down. That judgement determines whether people go home, and whether rescue and repair crews are working inside a structure that is about to fail.
This programme addresses damage assessment and structural safety. Participants learn structural behaviour under blast and fire, damage classification systems, rapid and detailed assessment procedures, assessment of concrete, masonry and steel structures, identification of progressive collapse risk, emergency shoring and stabilisation, documentation for reconstruction financing, and repair-versus-demolition decisions.
