Course Description
This intensive Flow Assurance training course provides participants with fundamental knowledge about the variety of disciplines required to safely and economically transport the process throughout different sections of the piping system.
Multiphase mixtures of oil, natural gas, water and deposits are normally piped between the reservoir and the surface, and the flow regime may change at different sections of the pipeline. These issues can lead to a multitude of pipeline failures including corrosion, erosion and blockage. This course is particularly beneficial for any company hoping to avoid the high maintenance and failure costs associated with process transport.
What you will achieve
By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:
- Understand relevant flow regimes that affect the integrity of piping systems
- Recognise aggressive environmental factors affecting pipeline systems
- Apply the basic principles of pipeline corrosion and methods of protection
- Understand the influence of hydrates, waxes, and other deposits
- Select chemicals for flow assurance (hydrate inhibitors, drag reducing agents)
- Apply relevant pipeline maintenance and cleaning techniques
- Understand NDT inspection techniques for pipeline integrity
How the course is delivered
The course utilises a variety of proven adult learning techniques with highly interactive and participative daily workshops. This involves regular discussion of applications and hands-on exposure to real-life examples.
Participants receive comprehensive course notes, and relevant computer simulations and videos are used to aid understanding of the various topics.
