Course Description
The Vibration Analysis Category II course prepares participants to be effective, working vibration analysts. Building on Category I foundations, it develops real diagnostic capability using spectral analysis, phase analysis, and time-waveform analysis.
Delivered with BII Research's 3D animations and simulations, the course ensures participants understand not just how to perform the analysis, but why each technique works. Training and accredited certification follow ISO 18436-2 and ISO/IEC 17024 via the certifying body. 18 months of field experience is required for full ISO certification.
What you will achieve
By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:
- Understand vibration measurement fundamentals: sensors, mounting, locations, and quality data collection
- Apply signal processing: sampling, windowing, and averaging
- Set up data collection correctly for reliable results
- Diagnose equipment fault conditions: unbalance, misalignment, bearings, and resonance
- Apply core analysis techniques: spectral analysis, phase analysis, and time-waveform analysis
- Prepare for the ISO 18436-2 Category II certification exam
How the course is delivered
The course combines expert-led instruction with BII Research's renowned 3D animations and vibration simulators. Hands-on analysis exercises let participants practise spectral, phase, and time-waveform techniques on realistic data.
Participants gain access to the iLearnVibration system and Learning Zone, with pre-course preparation material and post-course reference access.
