Course Description
A nuclear new build is among the most complex capital projects any country undertakes — multi-billion dollar, decade-long, executed by international consortia under exceptional regulatory scrutiny. Central Asia is entering exactly this phase, with first-of-a-kind projects creating demand for project, contracting and supply chain competence that does not yet exist locally.
This course develops an understanding of how nuclear new build projects are structured and delivered. Participants learn the project lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning, EPC contracting and risk allocation, the nuclear supply chain and its qualification requirements, quality assurance obligations, licensing interfaces, and the localisation and workforce challenges facing newcomer countries — without addressing reactor operation, which sits with the licensed operator.

How the course is delivered
The course combines nuclear project structure with EPC contracting, supply chain and quality requirements, using international new build examples. Participants work through contracting, qualification and interface scenarios relevant to newcomer nuclear countries.
The programme addresses project delivery and supply chain — not reactor operation — and is framed around the consortium model used in international nuclear projects.
