Course Description
Offshore wind delivers scale and capacity factors that onshore cannot match, and it is moving into new waters — including the Caspian, where Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are actively assessing projects, and South Asia, where India has an offshore programme. Floating foundations are extending the resource to depths that were previously unreachable.
This course develops an understanding of offshore wind technology and project development. Participants learn turbine and foundation technology including floating platforms, resource assessment and site selection, grid connection and export systems, installation and marine operations, operations and maintenance offshore, and the project development, contracting and economics that determine whether offshore wind projects reach financial close.
