Overview

Course Description

Carbon has become a traded commodity and a cost line on the balance sheet. The EU ETS sets the price that CBAM imports, Kazakhstan operates its own emissions trading system, and voluntary markets continue to fund mitigation — while Article 6 of the Paris Agreement reshapes how international transfers work.

This course develops a working understanding of carbon markets and emissions trading. Participants learn carbon pricing instruments and how they differ, the mechanics of emissions trading systems, the EU ETS and its linkage to CBAM, national systems including Kazakhstan's, voluntary carbon markets and credit integrity, Article 6 mechanisms, and the trading, hedging and compliance strategies open to an emitting business.
