Course Description
Kazakhstan has roughly 958 MW of wind capacity operating and 100 MW blocks going to auction with twenty-year contracts and thirty-six-month commissioning windows. The country's wind resource is exceptional; the constraint is competence to develop, operate and maintain the assets.
This course develops onshore wind capability. Participants learn wind resource assessment and its uncertainty, turbine technology and selection, wind farm layout and wake effects, energy yield and loss analysis, foundations, electrical infrastructure and grid connection, construction and commissioning, operations and maintenance strategy, condition monitoring of drivetrains and blades, and performance and availability management.

How the course is delivered
The course combines wind engineering with resource, yield and O&M exercises using realistic site data and turbine configurations. Participants work through layout optimisation, loss analysis and maintenance strategy.
The programme is specific to onshore wind — its resource assessment, logistics, foundations and maintenance access differ fundamentally from offshore, and the economics are set by availability.
