Course Description
District heating is where war and winter meet. Networks designed for stable operation now run under attack, with damaged sources, interrupted power, and pipelines that fail catastrophically when a system loses pressure and temperature in freezing conditions. A rupture in an occupied residential district is not a maintenance ticket — it is a humanitarian emergency measured in hours.
This programme addresses heating networks rather than boiler houses. Participants learn network hydraulics and thermal regimes, pipeline construction and insulation, leak detection and damage localisation, repair under load and in winter conditions, freeze prevention and system drainage decisions, operation during power interruption, and the organisation of emergency repair — the practical engineering of keeping heat in the pipes when the system is under sustained attack.
