Overview

Course Description

The Infrared Thermography Category II course advances the thermographer from data collection to expert diagnosis and program leadership. It develops the quantitative measurement skills and advanced application knowledge required of a senior thermographer.

Building on Category I foundations, participants master advanced radiometric measurement, complex applications, standards compliance, and the ability to lead a thermographic inspection program. Certification via the certifying body (ISO/IEC 17024).

Objectives

What you will achieve

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Perform advanced quantitative radiometric measurements
  • Apply correction factors for emissivity, reflection, and atmospheric attenuation
  • Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical fault conditions
  • Apply thermography to building envelopes, refractory, and process equipment
  • Establish inspection procedures and acceptance criteria
  • Lead a thermographic inspection program
  • Prepare for the Category II certification exam
Training methodology

How the course is delivered
