Inspecting everything equally is a way of inspecting the wrong things thoroughly. Risk-based inspection allocates inspection effort by consequence and likelihood of failure, concentrating resources where failure matters and relaxing where it does not — and defensibly documenting why.
This course develops RBI capability. Participants learn the RBI concept and its standards, damage mechanisms and their identification, probability of failure assessment, consequence of failure modelling, risk ranking and matrices, inspection planning against risk, inspection effectiveness and its influence on risk, reassessment and dynamic RBI, and the integration of RBI with integrity operating windows and maintenance.
