Course Description
A defence product that is not codified does not exist for NATO procurement. Codification is the administrative gateway through which an item receives a NATO Stock Number and becomes orderable across the Alliance — and for manufacturers seeking to move from domestic supply into allied markets, it is the first hard barrier.
This programme addresses NATO codification and the standards environment for defence suppliers. Participants learn the NATO Codification System and its purpose, the NCAGE code and how to obtain it, NATO Stock Numbers and item identification, the codification process and national codification bureaux, the STANAG framework and interoperability, standards in defence contracts, and the practical steps by which a manufacturer prepares to enter allied supply chains.
