Course Description
The EU Methane Regulation shifts the burden from estimates to measurement — and measurement of methane is genuinely difficult. Emissions are intermittent, spatially dispersed, driven by a small number of super-emitters, and measured by technologies whose detection limits, uncertainties and applicability differ by orders of magnitude.
This course builds measurement competence. Participants learn methane behaviour and dispersion, ground-based and handheld methods, mobile and vehicle-based survey, aerial measurement including drones and aircraft, satellite detection and its resolution limits, continuous monitoring networks, quantification methodologies and uncertainty, campaign design, and how to select the right technology for a given site and regulatory purpose.

How the course is delivered
